Holy Prada (2022)
Ritual between criticism and celebration of the world of fashion
Author and producer Vladimir Aleksić invited four women writers and one writer to whom he commissioned texts on certain topics that he deals with in this project. The writers of those texts wrote monologues in which they deal with related topics from the different perspectives of five different dramatic heroines. The obtained text material became the basic material for the adaptation of the performance text according to the director's concept of the play.
The play Saint Prada analyzes power relations within the fashion market as principles of capitalist society. Ideas about hierarchies and their (de)construction are the basic conceptual, theoretical and performance skeleton of the play through which the director Sanja Mitrović develops the dramatic and choreographic language of the play.
